Biography

simon

Simon James Cartwright was born in Canterbury England and moved to Brisbane Australia on June the 2nd 1970 at the age of 10 months old. He adopted the Australian culture as his own and when talking of his patriotism ‘ Born in England, made in Australia’ is commonly said by him. Additionally his passion for Queensland is usually expressed by him as ‘ Maroon to the bone’. For those not in the know, maroon is the Australian State’s sporting colour.

With no real education to speak of as far as a pass results go, Simon completed 13 years of schooling in Woodridge and Kingston (Logan QLD).

In 1992 he started to read and listen to self development material. This journey of discovery continues today. The enjoyment of helping, teaching and coaching others became a passion for him.

Simon often found himself working two or sometimes three jobs to make ends meet. Being married and divorced twice by his 31st birthday didn’t help that process.

Simon decided that life wasn’t happening the way he wanted it to and made a courageous move from Gold Coast Australia to the UK. He decided he would start to use the information he had been reading and listening in this journey of self development. As a part of this global change Simon committed to himself to create a new attitude for himself and make a fresh start in this new country.

With this new attitude he hit London in May 2003 after a month bus trip around Europe with two bags and a credit card with approximately a hundred pounds credit left on it. A few months later he moved from London to Scotland in order to continue the journey to re-invent himself.

Scotland was fantastic where his singing, writing and spiritual sides really started to evolve. It was around this time that he started to learn how the universe provides. The realization that with the right self belief and attitude that anyone could attract the life they desire.

Work took him to Leeds in May 2004 and after being made redundant in 2005 he decided to start to follow his passions for teaching and tennis. He set up a business as a full time tennis coach and loved this wonderful lifestyle. However after his second knee operation in 2008 he found himself looking for other ways to make his mark.

Property became the next part of the adventure. Though he had no experience,  and it was in the height of a recession, Property Centre was formed with his business partner Robin Shaw.

As his portfolio and property business were gathering momentum Simon decided to write his first book, “Pathways to Success. It combines all of his years of self development and learning written down in a way to help others succeed.

That passion to help others has also created ThinkPositive Coaching, a personal and business coaching business which was formed in 2009 with Brodie Asaris.

Simon continues to live life to the full and lives by a few very simple mottos:

‘ If it doesn’t make me happy im not doing it ‘

‘ The only risk in life is no risk at all ‘

‘ No regrets ‘

Ah yes I used to use the word legend 20 years ago. i even had a company that never got off the ground called legend sportwear. when i got my first email address it was only natural to put legends in the address. From there to keep all my friends and family incontact with what i did on my ‘adventure ‘over here and sent an email called legends adventures every month.
Anyway we must get together for a coffee and ill carry on the legend story some more lol.
I must say Julie the fact you sent a message to my site has to be one of the most bizarre and exciting things for me to witness. i didnt no how to use a computer 3 years ago and only just learnt how to cut n past a couple of years ago. :-)
